Worship
Sunday Morning Worship
Worship
Bethlehem has a traditional worship service which begins at 11:00 am. The music consists of singing hymns from the hymnals with a mix of contemporay songs mixed in. The preaching is biblical and scripture based related to modern day events in the lives of each one of us.
One might have a few questions when considering visiting a new church for the first time. So here are a few helpful items that might reduce the anxiety of your first visit.
One question might be: What do I wear? That is a good question. Bethlehem is a casual church where suit and tie are not required although one may wear a suit if one desires.
Another question may be: How will the people receive me when I get there? Bethlehem is a very friendly congregation which receives visitors warmly. Many visitors say that Bethlehem is the friendliest church in which they have visited.
Finally: Will there be any place to sit once I do arrive there? Bethlehem has a large sanctuary which holds around 400 persons. We only have around seventy that attend regularly. So there is plenty of room. Like the saying goes: "build it and they will come" we have built it, now we must fill it.
Hope this was helpful in answering some of your questions about your initial visit to Bethlehem UMC.

Children's Church
Before going to Children's Church, which takes place the same time as worship, the children are in the sanctuary for a short time and get to particiapte in a children's message which lasts about five minutes. Then children who are 2 yrs-old to 5th grade are allowed to go down stairs for Children's Church. We have just started a new program and the next series will be Mega City. The children are enjoying the new program the church is now doing. They get to see a play, sing, watch a video on the lesson, and recite key points in the lesson for the day.
